Elidel cream is an effective and safe prescription topical medicine for the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema) in adults and children 2 years of age and older. It works by preventing the release of inflammatory substances in the skin, which can cause redness, itching, and flaking. Elidel cream is a non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is clinically proven to reduce symptoms of atopic dermatitis, including redness, itching, and flaking. It is applied directly to the affected areas of the skin, usually twice a day, and can be used on the face, arms, legs, and body. Elidel cream is a safe and effective treatment for mild to moderate atopic dermatitis with few side effects. It is not recommended for use in infants under 2 years of age, pregnant women, or those with severe atopic dermatitis.
Elidel cream is easy to apply and the results are usually seen within a few days of beginning treatment.
